We ask that at least once a month each of us commits to using one of our great local Black Owned Businesses.

  3. The Poet Laureate – David Judah Oliver The Art of David Judah David Judah Oliver is the Poet Laureate of Pomona and also a Black Business owner in the City of Pomona.
    David has been a community leader, helping shape young people's lives artistically. He remains versatile in teaching poetry to students of all ages in schools, Pomona colleges, prisons, and at the Fairplex, and hsas hosted several events every weekend at the Pomona Fair.
    He is an art consultant for the Ontario Montclair School District.

    Henry Madge is a Case Manager working for Volunteers of America Los Angeles at Hope for Home Pomona, and he is the CEO of Non-profit "Here Love Matters."
    The "Here Love Matters'" vision is to spread Love throughout our broken community, through the feeding of food to those who are home less, through mentoring youth, and creating a positive work out environment.

Agenda For a Prophetic Faith meet the Board members Alex Morales, Julia Wheeler, John Cobb, Louis Chase, John C. Forney & Mary Tawadro hosted a Reparations Showcase Fundraiser benefiting local black businesses in the City of Pomona continuing the movementtowards unity on: Saturday June 25th, 2022 1:00pm to 4:00pm at The dA Center for the Arts. The Recipient will be Chosen at the Fundraiser.

Artist Mary Tawadros aka EgyptianPrincess8 will host the showcase fundraiser. (This is a launch to invite you to once a month support one of our local Black Businesses in Pomona Valley. A directory will be updated for you.)

DJ SuperMario aka Mario Berrocal - adding a community-oriented vibe to the event and the movement.

Romaine Washington aka IamRomaine Washington guest presenter - (she/her) is the author of the poetry collection, Purgatory Has an Address, (Bamboo Dart Press, 2021) nominated for a Pushcart Prize, and Sirens in Her Belly, (Jamii, 2015). Washington's poetry has appeared in local and national publications including New Direction: Howard University, Lullwater Review: Emory University, The Black Scholar California English, and Gatherings: A Women Who Submit Anthology, among others. She has presented her poetry in community and national venues including Inside Socal CBS2/KCAL9, NPR, KPFK, and the National Poetry Slam. Washington is a fellow of The Watering Hole, South Carolina and Inland Area Writing Project, UCRiverside. She has been an educator for more than twenty years and considers all forms of writing and reading to be a source for learning. Spoken Word Artists & Musicians will captivate you with creativity.
